Flute after Matthew Corcoran |
This flute is based on a design of Matthew
Corcoran, an Irish maker of the 18th century. The original is especially distinguishes itself from other flutes for its clear tone and deep, powerful low register. The tuning has been adapted to match modern concert standards, but has stayed a faithful reproduction of its original tonal quality. For practical reasons I also have equipped the instrument with an adjustable head. It has 4 keys, padded with leather or imitation leather at wish. The basic pitch is a = 440 Hertz, whiich can be tuned higher to match other instruments if the customer wishes. |
