descant recorder after E. Terton
This soprano recorder from the Gemeentemuseum in The Hague, has become a famous instrument, not only because of Brüggen's recordings, but also because of the very fine silver decoration on it's head and foot. It has a beautiful, brilliant tonal quality, and is crystal clear in all registers. The silver mounts on the stained boxwood recorder are a fine example of excellent craftsmanship. The copy I make can be with or without rings (silver like the original, plain undecorated art ivory mounts, or no rings). The pitch is 415 Hertz, and the recorder has double bored holes with modern fingering. On special request I also make a replica with single holes and historic fingering. A redesigned instrument in a = 440 Hertz is also possible.Image
