Wick alto recorder
This alto recorder is my own design. It is not based on historical models, but the workmanship is still traditional. Before the final measurements were ready, we have put a lot of research into it. The instruments have been thoroughly tested by recorder-players, both amateurs and professionals. The resulting instruments meet the high demands of modern playing practice in intonation, expressivity and ease of play. The alto is perfect for solo work, as well as for ensemble playing and has been used by many players to their full satisfaction. The modern design of the instrument is less ornamentated than traditional baroque recorders, which accounts for less woodturning work and a reasonable price. They are still entirely made by hand from the best possible kinds of naturally dried woods. No concession whatsoever has been made towards quality. The standard pitch is a'= 440 Hz. If the customer so wishes we can also make a slightly higher pitch to the latest standards. The recorder is made with double bored toneholes, and have modern English fingering.Image
