Richard Potter 6 keyed flute |
This orginal of this 6 keyed traverso came out of the workshop of the very productive London flutemaker Richard Potter. The flute made from boxwood and imitation ivory, with silver keys, has a good sound. There are three corps de rechange, each one with two silver keys (Bb and G#). Apart from the usual D# key the flute has a right-hand F-key. The foot is lengthened down to C, and has two simple keys for C and C#. For my copy I have only changed the foot, to allow the lower register a little more room. The traverso is 1350 euro with 1 center joint for a' = 415, a' = 430 or a' =440 Hertz at wish. Extra corps de rechange are 300 euro each.  |
