The original of this 1 keyed baroque flute can be found in the Bate Museum in Oxford, and was made by Thomas Stanesby jr. The full warm, tone of the middle and lower registers makes it into a well-balanced instrument, with plenty of possibilities for differentiation in tonal colours. The flute is made from African blackwood (grenadilla), with art ivory rings and cap. It has been used for four years. It has no damage, very good condition.
