 new model alto recorder in 392 Hertz
Between januari 2008 and march 2010 I have, on special request from a good customer, developed a new alto recorder in low pitch, a = 392 Hertz, for early french music. It has become a beautiful instrument after a very rare original made by Louis Hotteterre. Very few of his instruments survive, and this reconstruction is a combination of several parts taken from incomplete originals in private and museum collections. It plays well in tune at a standardized 392 Hertz, with Hotteterre fingering, and single bored holes. This "copy" is made from acid stained european boxwood.
